Iran FM terms talks with Saudi counterpart as positive

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has described a meeting and negotiation with his Saudi counterpart as positive.

FM Amirabdollahian wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday meeting with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in Chinese capital: Today we had positive meeting and talk with my colleague Emir Faisal bin Farhan in Beijing.

Official initiation of diplomatic relationship between Riyadh and Tehran, resumption of Umrah pilgrimage, economic and trade cooperation, reopening of respective embassies and consulates as well as emphasis on stability, sustainable security and regional development are among the issues of joint agenda and agreement, he added.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Beijing on Wednesday night.

Amirabdollahian met with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud a few hours ago; then, delegations of both countries headed by the two foreign ministers held discussions to prepare a joint statement.
