Iranian delegation to visit Saudi Arabia in coming days

The Islamic Republic of Iran will send a delegation to Saudi Arabia later this week, Director General of Iran's Foreign Ministry Office for Persian Gulf Affairs Alireza Enayati announced on Sunday evening.

Enayati said in an interview that the initial consultations with the Saudi officials have been completed.

The Iranian diplomatic delegation has arranged and is going through the final stages, while the required office work is completed and the delegation will be dispatched to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia later this week, he added.

Enayati added that the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran is comprised of two sub groups, one will remain in Jeddah, and the other one will go to Riyadh, so that the required recovery acts and preparation for the reopening of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Saudi Arabia and Iran's consulate office in that country will be completed.

This diplomat who was accompanying the Iranian delegation in Beijing for talks with Saudi officials speaking about the agreements reached between Iran and Saudi Arabia underlined that air transportations between the two countries have been paid heed to and the technical delegation must exchange ideas to implement that agreement.

The director general of Foreign Ministry Office for Persian Gulf Affairs said that direct passenger flights from Tehran and Riyadh must be resumed.

Enayati said that in fact this agreement can be defined as the framework for establishment of relations between the two Iranian and Saudi nations.
