“In Venezuela we find true friends in the world with whom we are united in our resistance, courage and determination to continue as free nations,” he wrote in a tweet on Tuesday after Raisi arrived in Caracas.
The Iranian president arrived at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas on Monday at the formal invitation of his Venezuelan counterpart.
Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren and other top officials of the Latin American country.
The Iranian president’s Latin American tour will also take him to Nicaragua and Cuba.
