Iran, Saudi Arabia to expand flight network: Official

Iran and Saudi Arabia have started negotiations on further developing the flight network between the two neighboring counties, the Head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) has said.

Speaking to IRNA on Saturday, Mohammad Mohammadi Bakhsh said that Hajj flights exist between Iran and Saudi Arabia from 21 cities, but the two sides are negotiating to establish non-Hajj flights.

He said he had invited his Saudi counterpart to visit Iran for negotiating on the expansion of the flight network.

This invitation is due to the examination of common issues and the request of the Iranian airports to launch flights from different cities of Iran to Saudi Arabia with the participation of Iranian airlines, he added.
