Minister: 550K foreign tourists visit Iran in June

Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Ezzatollah Zarghami says that 550,000 foreigners arrived in Iran for tourism purposes in the month to June 21.

Zarghami told reporters on Wednesday that 850,000 foreign tourists have visited Iran since the begging of the current Iranian calendar year.

He stressed that despite the attempts made by some of the European countries like France to prevent the entrance of tourists to Iran, the visits have increased.

Earlier, Zarghami said that Iran is planning a visa waiver program for 50 states in the world unilaterally.

Iran’s Ministry of Tourism divides the countries of the world into five groups and “we believe” that a collective alliance should be formed to cancel visas with a large number of countries, he noted.
