Moscow ready to boost anti-terrorism ties with Iran: Russian Embassy

The Russian embassy in Tehran has condemned the terrorist attack that occurred at the Shah Cheragh holy shrine in the southern city of Shiraz on Sunday, expressing readiness to boost anti-terrorism ties with Iran.

"We express our deepest condolences to the leadership and people of Iran over the terrorist attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz", the Russian embassy in Tehran said in a statement on Monday.

Russia strongly condemns the incident and extends its heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims and the injured, the statement reads.

"We hope that those responsible for the terrorist attack will be found and punished," it added.

"We reaffirm our readiness to further boost cooperation with our Iranian partners in the fight against terrorism," the embassy added.

A terrorist attack occurred at the Shah Cheragh holy shrine in Shiraz, Iran’s Fars province on August 13, 2023, during which one person was martyred and eight others were injured.
