Iran self-sufficient in production of ground forces equipment: Commander

The commander of the Ground Force of the Iranian Army Brigadier-General Kiumars Heidari has announced that Iran is fully self-sufficient in production of equipment needed by the force, adding that Iran does not rely on any other country for the needs of its ground forces.

Heidari made remarks while visiting Iran’s booth in Russia's military exhibition, known as Army Forum 2023, in Moscow on Sunday.

He said some experts are working in 23 military branches to meet the needs of the ground forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, adding that they have achieved self-sufficiency in those fields.

General Heydari is currently in Moscow at the invitation of Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces of Russia General Oleg Salyukov.

During his visit, he will hold talks with his Russian counterpart to discuss various issues and will visit some technological and training centers in the country.

He also plans to meet with some officials from Russia’s armed forces headquarters and the country's Ministry of Defense.
