Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman says the date and venue of the next round of talks between Iran and six major world powers (P5+1) would be announced in case the two sides’ upcoming deputy-level meeting yields positive results.

If positive results are achieved during the talks between Deputy Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Baqeri and the deputy of EU foreign policy chief, Helga Schmid, the date and venue of the next round of negotiations will be decided, Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday.

The senior Foreign Ministry official made the remarks during his weekly press conference.Mehmanparast added that SNSC Secretary Saeed Jalili and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton would confer before the negotiations.

In June, Iran and the P5+1 - Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States plus Germany - agreed to hold expert-level talks during their negotiations in the Russian capital, Moscow.

The next round of the expert-level talks over Tehran’s nuclear energy program has been scheduled to be held in the Turkish city of Istanbul on July 24.

Iran and the P5+1 representatives held their last such meeting on July 3 in Istanbul.

Mehmanparast further expressed hope for positive results to surface in the expert and deputy-level meetings in Istanbul so that additional steps toward higher-level negotiations could be taken.
