The month long event that was held under the title of “Qur’an, culture of awakening” started its work a week before the holy month of Ramadan. The exhibition is regarded as the biggest Qur’an related event in the Middle East. Officials say that the 20th Qur’an expo was the most successful one in comparison with those of the past.
The 90 thousand square meter space no longer seems to be enough to host the number of Qur’anic institutions and publishers as well as visiting crowds. For that reason Iran’s ministry of culture and Islamic Guidance which is in charge of launching the annual event says that it has plans to expand the space and duration of next year’s Qur’an exhibition.
This year’s Qur’an exhibition appeared to be more organized. Attended by more than 30 foreign publishers and Qur’an institutions the event consisted of various sections ranging from science and art to Qur’an publications and religious debate gatherings. Some 40 pavilions dedicated to different Qur’an related subject were also open to visitors. Officials have already invited people to visit a much more diverse and attractive Qur’an exhibition next Ramadan.
