Mehdi Hashemi who was in London for living and education, arrived at the Imam Khomeini airport tonight by Emirates Airlines Flight EK977.
Officials have said Mehdi should be arrested upon arrival in Iran, accusing him of fomenting unrest after the 2009 vote.
There is still no news of his detention in airport.
The son of former Iranian president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, has just arrived in Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran.
