In a farewell meeting with the outgoing Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Hamed Hassan on Tuesday, Larijani said, “The way should be paved for the Syrian government and people to solve their domestic problems without any interference from foreigners."
The Majlis speaker also reaffirmed Iran parliament's support for further development of bilateral relations between Tehran and Damascus.
Presenting a report on the latest developments in Syria, Hassan for his part, stated that “a great conspiracy has been hatched against Syria with regional and international parties trying to create unrest in Syria.”
Syria has been scene of unrest since March 2011 and many people, including large numbers of army and security personnel, have been killed in the turmoil.
The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the insurgents are foreign nationals.
Syria blames Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey as well as some Western countries for fanning the flames of violence in the country.
