Head of Iran-France Parliamentary Friendship Group has stressed the importance of confidence-building between Tehran and Paris, calling for the continuation of bilateral talks to clear misunderstandings.

“Tehran-Paris misunderstandings can only be cleared through negotiation and interaction,” Hassan Kamran said in a meeting with French Ambassador to Tehran Bruno Foucher on Monday.

The legislator reaffirmed the Iranian nation’s right to use the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, adding, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is always ready for dialogue and interaction in order to resolve issues pertaining to its peaceful nuclear energy program.”

He emphasized that expansion of parliamentary exchanges between Iran and France is necessary to build mutual confidence.

Kamran also voiced the readiness of Iran's parliamentary friendship group to use mutual historical and cultural potentials and bolster political, economic and cultural relations between Tehran and Paris.

The French envoy, for his part, said regional and international issues should not reduce consultations between the Iranian and French officials.

He called for the continuation of Tehran-Paris talks to remove obstacles on the way of enhanced relations.
