China has always believed that dialogue and cooperation are the only ways to resolve the Western concerns over Iran’s nuclear energy program, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said at a daily press conference on Tuesday.
Hong added that China will maintain communication with relevant parties for an overall, long-term and proper resolution.
Iran's Ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh announced earlier in the week that a new round of talks between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Tehran would be held next month.
The last round of negotiations between Iran and the IAEA was held in the Austrian capital of Vienna on August 24, 2012.
The United States, Israel and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Iran argues that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the IAEA, it is entitled to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
