Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas says they are firing rockets towards Tel Aviv in retaliation against Israeli attacks that have claimed the lives of 13 Gazans since Wednesday.

Earlier, three Israelis, two women and a man, were killed when a Palestinian rocket hit a building in the southern city of Kiryat Malachi.

Meanwhile, Palestinians are holding a funeral ceremony for the head of Izzeddin Qassam Brigades Ahmed al-Jabari who was killed in an Israeli attack on his car on Wednesday.

Three Palestinians were killed in fresh Israeli strikes on the southern city of Khan Yunis in the besieged Gaza Strip on Thursday, bringing to 13 the number of people killed in the coastal enclave since Wednesday.

More than 100 people have also been injured.

This is as the Israeli cabinet has given Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as the ministers for military and foreign affairs the authority to decide on expanding the offensive against the Gaza Strip.

Based on the new authority, the Israeli leaders do not need the approval of the security cabinet for any measures they decide to adopt regarding the attacks on the coastal enclave.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice has defended Israeli offensive against Palestinians in the coastal enclave, which has been under an Israeli blockade for the past five years.
