Mehman-Parast made the remarks in a meeting with Head of Turkish Prime Minister Office's Press and Information Department Murat Karakaya in Ankara on Monday.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mehman-Parast pointed to the current sensitive situation in the Middle East and added, "Media play a very effective role in this sensitive situation."
He added that increasing public awareness of the people of the two countries will be very effective for promoting bilateral ties.
Mehman-Parast left Tehran for Istanbul on Saturday to discuss bilateral ties and mutual cooperation with the Turkish officials.
Mehman-Parast, heading a high-ranking delegation, is slated to discuss the media cooperation between the two countries.
He is also scheduled to visit to some leading Turkish media during his stay in Turkey.
