Deputy oil minister for planning and supervision on hydrocarbon resources, Mohesen Khojastehmehr made the remarks adding the time frame for inauguration of the remaining projects would be announced in Esfand (March 2013).
"Out of 55 projects, 32 are oil projects, 13 petrochemical projects, 8 gas and 2 oil refining projects," the official said.
He said two Mehr Mandegar projects in petrochemical sector, Kavian Petrochemical Plant and West Ethylene Pipeline, worth $2 billion, were inaugurated yesterday adding the remaining projects would come online gradually.
Referring to some of the most important projects coming on stream this year, Khojastehmehr said: Kermanshah petrochemical plant plus eight projects in Imam Khomeini Port, south of Iran, including a NF3 project are ready for start up.
He stated that Sirri Island NGL project is among the other projects that would become operational in near future, a project that 500 million dollars has spent in it to collect 3.5 million cubic meters of associated gases on a daily basis for changing it into light gas as feedstock for petrochemical plants and injection to national gas grid.
Collecting associated gases at Nargesi oil field is another Mehr Mandegar project while early production from Yadavaran and Northern Yaran oil fields are two other projects coming online in oil sector.
Khojastehmehr who is also Secretary of Mehr Mandegar Projects Headquarters at Petroleum Ministry said development and boosting treatment capacity of Cheshmeh Khosh and Paydare Gharb are two other projects coming online in near future.
Official inauguration of Serajeh gas storage facility near Qom city, supplying 850 villages and 40 cities with gas, development of Sarvestan and Saadatabad oil fields and other oil and gas fields located west of Karoun River, west of the country, and installation of well bore pumps in 30 oil fields of Ahvaz are among the projects becoming operational this year.
Cat cracker project at Abadan oil refinery worth almost 600 million dollars and starting the second phase of Abadan oil refinery development plan, worth three billion dollars, are among the other projects of Petroleum Ministry, the official concluded.
