Thirteen African heads of state, one prime minister, two vice presidents and 18 government foreign delegations are expected to attend Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony at Independence Square in Accra on January 7.
The 54-year-old politician will be officially sworn in to begin his four-year term.
Mahama was elected to serve his first term as the Ghanaian president in December 2012 following a peaceful election.
The electoral commission said Mahama secured 50.7% of the votes cast and opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo 47.74%.
Mahama was the vice president of Ghana from 2009 to 2012, and took office as president on July 24, 2012 following the death of his predecessor, President John Atta Mills.
During his stay, Salehi will also meet with senior Ghanaian officials, hold talks on the expansion of Tehran-Accra relations and discuss latest regional and international developments.
