Iran is ready to export services and the technical know-how for building petrochemical plants, Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Qassemi said.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of NF3 project at Imam Khomeini petrochemical plant, the minister said the project is among the Mehre-Mandegar (Lasting Kindness) projects.

He said Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) project at Aria Chemical TEX Company, which has come online earlier, is another project that is going to be inaugurated today.

"Oil industry staff is involved in completion and building various projects by reliance on its technical knowhow which will raise oil industry production capacity to a great extent," Qassemi said.

Aria Chemical TEX Company as the first producer of MEK in the Middle East will produce five thousand tons of the product in the first phase and after raising its production, the country no longer needs to import the product.

Japan, China, India, Germany and the United States are the other main producers of MEK and Iran, which has indigenized technical knowhow of the product, has the ability to export the product.

The second phase of the project will become operational next year with production of 15 thousand tons of MEK per year.
