In the first quarterfinal match South American powerhouse Brazil worked hard to achieve the victory over Iran. The Brazilian outfit beat Iran in straight sets (25-21, 25-20, 25-22).
“It was a very good match. The Brazilian team played very well, while we made a lot of mistakes. Our players could not show their abilities since they lost the concentration,” Iran coach Farhad Nafarzadeh said in the post match news conference.
“We congratulate Brazil with their win; they played well with their maximum power. We need to prepare for the next matches, but also my players need some rest and better concentration.” He added.
Alan Souza scored 28 points for Brazil to top the scorers’ chart of the match.. Javad Hosseinabadi was Iran’s top scorer with 14 points.
Iran failed to book a place in the semifinals round of the FIVB Volleyball Men's U-21 World Championship on Friday.
