According to the report, Iran produced 15.4mln tons of raw steel during the period, witnessing a 6.6-percent growth compared to 2012.
In December 2013, Iran produced 1,350,000 tons of steel billets. The figure shows a 13.6-percent rise compared with the same period in 2012.
In 2013, China ranked first in global steel production, producing 779mln tons of steel, while Japan and the US came next with 110 and 87mln tons of output respectively.
Iran is among the 15 major steel producers in the world.
Major raw steel producers of Iran are Mobarakeh Steel Mill, Khuzestan Steel Company, the Isfahan Iron Smelting Complex and Iran National Steel Industries Group.
In 2012, Iran produced 14.463mln tons of crude steel, and was named the first largest producer of crude steel in the Middle-East and North Africa.
