Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani voiced Tehran's determination to strengthen its ties with neighboring nations, specially in parliamentary field where most important decisions are made by nation's representatives.

In a meeting with member of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI) Bayan Jabr in Tehran on Monday, the top Iranian lawmaker stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation as a way of further expanding relations between Tehran and Baghdad and called for mutual consultation to open a new chapter in the bilateral parliamentary ties.

At a Monday meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in Tehran,

“Promotion of friendly and close relations between Iran and Iraq will bring about enormously positive effects on the enhancement of security and progress of the two nations and the region,” Larijani further underlined.

Iran and Iraq have enjoyed growing ties ever since the overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, during the 2003 US invasion of the Muslim country.
