Iranian parliamentarians gave another symbolic ‘yellow card’ to a minister after he failed to ‘convince’ the lawmakers about their questions on the status of pensioners of the steel industry.

Minister of Mines and Industries Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh was summoned to the Majlis to anwer questions of the MPs in an open session on Tuesday.

Of the 237 MPs who attended, 111 voted in favor, 104 against and 14 abstained from the Parliament session.

The Majlis has summoned several ministers including the foreign minster, the interior minister, the intelligence minister and the science minister, for explanation over their performances since President Hassan Rouhani took office in August.

In the past, five other ministers received ‘yellow cards’ from the MPs.
