President Hassan Rouhani said here on Tuesday that Iran attaches great importance to expansion of ties with Muslim countries, the Asian states in particular.

While receiving credentials of the new Myanmar non-resident ambassador to Tehran on Tuesday, President Rouhani expressed hope that tranquility, security and solidarity would be restored to Myanmar.

 

He also expressed hope that ethnic and religious minorities, Muslims in particular, could live freely in Myanmar.

 

President Rouhani also voiced Iranˈs readiness to bolster economic, political, scientific and cultural ties with Myanmar.

 

He also added Iran is ready to cooperate with Myanmar in technical and vocational arenas.

 

The Myanmarese diplomat, for his part, said the two countries have always enjoyed amicable relations.
