President Hassan Rouhani felicitated heads of Islamic countries on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr in a message issued on Monday.

Eid ul-Fitr is an important religious occasion celebrated by Muslims worldwide marking the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

 

President Rouhani stressed that the occasion calls for avoiding prejudice, violence and extremism in order to reach salvation and get closer to the Almighty as it is a month to thank for all His blessings.

 

During this yearˈs Ramadan, Muslims have witnessed savage massacre of defenseless people in Gaza by the Zionist regime on one hand and on the other, the unbelievable fratricide and terrorist acts committed by Daesh, now called the Islamic State, terrorist group in Iraq and Syria.

 

The President said the objective behind massacre of Muslims and the terrorist acts was to damage Musilmsˈ solidarity by sowing discord among different Islamic faiths and tribes.

 

President Rouhani expressed hope that Muslim nations would stay vigilant against vicious plots of enemies of Islam, consolidate their unity and share mercy and brotherhood with their fellow Muslim nations.

 

He also hoped that Muslims would maintain their resistance against aggression and the vicious policy of Islamophobia.

 

President Rouhani also wished for prosperity and success of all Muslim nations and governments.

 

Eid ul-Fitr is to be marked in Iran on Tuesday.
