Celebrated Iranian vocalists Homayoun Shajarian and Alireza Qorbani will collaborate for the first time in the production of an album.

Monday edition of the English language newspaper Iran Daily quotes composer Mehryar Alizadeh as saying the pieces are in the orchestral genre.

He added that the recording process has been completed and the album is currently in the mixing stage.

Alizadeh noted, ˈA number of the poems are by Nima Yushij and the rest are taken from Ahmad Shamloo, Mohammad-Reza Shafiei Kadkani, Mohammad-Ali Bahmani, Simin Behbahani and Alireza Koliaei.”

He stressed that all the pieces were recorded with an ensemble orchestra. A major portion of the album was recorded in a studio belonging to Czech Republic TV station in cooperation with Prague Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra. Parts of the work were also recorded in Taraneh and Kangan studios.

The exact time for the album’s release has not been specified, he said.

Alizadeh stressed, ˈThis is the first time after the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that two well-known Iranian vocalists are producing a joint work. We will do our best to make a high quality album.”
