President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday hailed major progress Iran has made in stemcell technology, calling for declaration of Iranian achievements to the international research instituttes.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the Royan Institute for Biotechnology Research scientists and staff.

Iran will continue scientific progress in all fields particularly in field of biotechnology, Rouhani noted.

He underlined that Iran should become a regional example in the field of scientific progress.

Meanwhile, he appreciated the critical statements of the other power blocs and said that the government expects the critics to observe the fact that the government expects constructive criticism rather than sabotage.

He said that his administration considers the expert views and constructive criticism.

He said that in line with public demand from the government, the cabinet ministers decided to turn the port city of Jask in the southern province of Hormuzgan to the countryˈs second crude oil export terminal.

In another response to the critics, President Rouhani said that the administration has made great achievements in various fields in the past 12 months in office.

President asked the critics to avoid politically-motivated accusations and to be fair in their critical approach.

IRNA analyst said that the president needs to prepare the ground for political parties to undertake their constitutional mandate. Otherwise, the non-democratic power blocs will strike blow to the democratic process underway in the country.

Rouhani praised Iranˈs scientific progress in fields of nanotechnology, biotechnology and airspace technology as well as nuclear technology.

President toured different sections of Royan Institute for Biotechnology Research on Saturday morning.

Royan Institute is a non-governmental non-profitable organization established in 1991 by the late Dr. Saeed Kazemi Ashtiani as a research institute for Reproductive Biomedicine and infertility treatments.

The institute is forerunner in StemCell research and is one of the best clinics for infertility treatment
