President Rouhani also expressed the hope that Tehran-Helsinki relations would further grow in near future.
In September, Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja underscored Iran's remarkable progress in various fields of science, particularly in stemcells technology, and called for the promotion of scientific relations between the two countries' universities and academic centers.
Tuomioja, who paid a visit to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and the Oncology Laboratory at the time, underscored Iran's eye-catching progress in stemcells.
"Iran and Finland can promote their relations extensively in the field of culture and education," he said.
Finland is a Nordic country situated in the Fennoscandian region of Northern Europe. It is bordered by Sweden to the West, Norway to the North, Russia to the East and Estonia to the South over the Gulf of Finland.
