Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian voiced Tehran's readiness to help African nations overcome extremism and terrorism in the continent.

Amir Abdollahian said the western intelligence agencies are supporting the ISIL, but Iran backs African countries’ efforts to defeat terrorist groups, including Boko Haram.

The Iranian official is now in Addis Ababa for the AU summit.
