Referring to the upcoming presidential and city council elections to be held on May 19, he cautioned against the enemies' sabotage in the elections, and urged the nation to vigilantly move forward in this regard.
The Leader called the military forces one of the elements of country’s security.
He underlined the role of country’s economic, scientific, educational and cultural apparati in preventing enemies to reach their goals.
Economic issues are country's top priority and officials are responsible to pursue the Resistance Economy policies to resolve people economic problems, including the unemployment, Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Supreme Leader urged officials to prevent enemy's misuse of country’s economic vulnerability.
Bullying powers, in particular the US, are certainly hostile to the Iranian nation, the Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that they have been always hostile to all governments in Iran after the revolution.
The Leader said that the nation should continue its authority towards the US and some European states and do not afraid of enemy.
Holding a healthy and secure election across the country with massive turnout will protect the country against enemies’ conspiracies, he added.
“I have always reiterated that today, the aggressive big powers are used to intimidate other states.”
The Leader said that the aggressive powers, who want to interfere everywhere, are exaggerating about their power to intimidate other states.
“Do you remember the frowns of some previous US governments,” he said, adding that the new officials have adopted similar approach.
The worst situation for a country is that the officials of that country become fearful of enemies’ frown, threats and exclamations, he added.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that if the officials of a country are frightened of enemy's threats, in fact they have opened the doors for its entrance and aggression.
“For sure, works should be done based on wisdom, logic and intelligence but it should be done with courage.”
Being frightened and worried of the world powers is the beginning of misery, he said.
The Leader noted that if one wants to be fearful of enemy, no problem, but he should not be afraid on behalf of people.
The nation stood against enemy and if they have not stood, there would have been no trace of Iran and Iranians since 1979, he said.
The Leader said that the enemies, in particular the US, cannot do a damn thing against a governing system which is well-connected to its people, love them and they love it.
Every year Iran commemorates the National Army Day on April 18 or 17, throughout the country with the presence of military and civil high-ranking officials.
On April 18, 1988, the US Navy in the Persian Gulf threatened Nasr and Salmaan oil platforms to make the staff abandon the installations; however, the Iranian Army staff present there refused to do so and were proudly martyred by the invading US Navy.
