Iran, Qatar FMs review issues of bilateral importance

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in a meeting in Doha on Tuesday, explored ways for expansion of bilateral relations in different political and economic areas and the issues related to Iranian nationals living in Qatar.

Amirabdollahian is accompanying President Ebrahim Raisi in a visit to the Qatari capital for a Summit of heads of states of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).

He said that a meeting between the Iranian president and the Qatari Emir was of paramount importance to give a boost to bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.

The Qatari foreign minister, for his part, underlined the need for implementing the agreements made by the top officials of Iran and Qatar.

The two foreign ministers also discussed the developments underway in the Vienna talks between Iran and the five world powers, as well as the most important regional issues, including the ongoing situation in Afghanistan and Yemen.
