Leila Hatami chosen jury member of Venice Film Festival

Iranian internationally-renowned actress Leila Hatami has been chosen as a jury member of the main competition section of the 79th Venice International Film Festival.

The Information website of the Venice Film Festival reported on Friday that the head of this year’s main completion section is Julian Moor from the United States, and its members include Leila Hatami from Iran, the 2017 Nobel Literature Prize winner and Japanese writer Kaseo Ishigoro, the Argentinian film script writer and director Mariano Cann, the Italian film script writer and director Leonardo di Costanzo and the Spanish film script writer and director Rodrigo Sorogoyen del Amo.

This is Leila Hatami’s first experience as a jury member in Venice Film Festival.

The 79th Venice International Film Festival is organized by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera. It will take place at Venice Lido from 31 August to 10 September 2022. The Festival is officially recognized by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association).
