Iranian women secure int’l volleyball medal after 56 years

Iran’s women volleyball team made it to the final of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Turkey to gain a medal after 56 years.

Iranian women defeated Azerbaijan Republic’s volleyball team 3-1 and made its way to the final game.

In this way, Iran’s women national volleyball team made history as it is sure to gain at least the silver medal.

Iran’s women team last won a medal in international games in 1966 when they gained the bronze medal of Asian games.

This is also the first time in history that Iran’s women team becomes the runner-up, if they fail to break a greater record by becoming champion.
