Universities best platform to discuss Iran events: Pres. Raisi

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has described universities as the best location for talking on the recent unrest and proposing solutions.

Raisi made the remarks on Saturday night in a meeting with deans of universities in Iran, saying that the academic centers are hubs for the generation of science and improvement of the scientific capabilities of the country in order to disappoint enemies.

Emphasizing the need for universities in Iran to be politically active, the chief executive argued that universities should know the requirements of the society better than other sectors and academics should be ready to serve the country on the basis of the priorities of the country.

As to the current psychological warfare, he said that the enemies have tried hard to stop scientific, industrial, and service-based activities of the Islamic country, but their plots were doomed to failure.

Iran’s oil export has been reaching the statistics prior to the 2018 sanctions and the scientific rankings of the Iranian universities are remarkable, which are in contradiction to the foes’ plan to isolate the Islamic Republic, he added.

In the meeting, some deans also spoke about their viewpoints on the current events in Iran.
