Reza Noshadi, the managing director of Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company, made the remarks speaking in a conference in the Iranian capital on development of trade between Iran and Iraq.
Noting that the presence of Iranian companies in the Iraqi oil and gas industry is insufficient, he said that as Iran has had an active presence in construction of hospitals and power plants in Iraq and is expected to participate in Iraqi oil and gas projects too.
He called on the Iraqi officials to pave the way for further presence of Iranian companies in the neighboring country’s oil and gas projects.
Noshadi said that oil industry alone is capable of doubling the volume of trade between Iran and Iraq.
