“September Document” same process of talks between Iran, P4+1: Kanaani

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani responded to a question regarding reports quoting Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian about a “September Document” between Iran and the US regarding the revival of the JCPOA, saying, “The September Document isn’t a new document, it is the same process of negotiations between Iran and P4+1”.

Speaking at a weekly press conference on Monday, Kanaani explained, “The latest draft of talks within the framework of the JCPOA was prepared in September 2022 which would have led us closer to an agreement. The US and European partners, in a miscalculation and with a look at the last year's riots in Iran and the war in Ukraine, wasted time, missed opportunities and refused to finalize the negotiations. They once again showed that they do not have the necessary will for all parties to return to the nuclear deal”.

He stressed that Amir-Abdollahian’s recent remarks in an interview with Tehran-based Ettela'at newspaper about the future of the JCPOA and the indirect talks with the United States were clear.
