Iranian wrestlers depart for Belgrade to attend world championships

Members of the Iranian national freestyle wrestling team have left Tehran for the Serbian capital of Belgrade to attend the 2023 World Wrestling Championships.

The Iranian team traveled to Belgrade on Wednesday, three days before the start of their wrestling matches in the world championships.

The team features 10 top-class wrestlers, including world champions from previous years.

The roaster of the team, as announced by Iran’s wrestling federation, is as follows:

Amir Mohammad Yazdani 70 kg

Younes Emami 74 kg

Mohammad Nokhodi 79 kg

Hassan Yazdani 86 kg

Amir Ali Azarpira 92 kg

Mojtaba Goleij 97 kg

Amir Hossein Zare 125 kg

Last year’s world champion in the 92 kilogram category Kamran Ghassempour missed the games due to a late injury.
