Saudi king, crown prince receive letter from Iran's president

Saudi sources reported that Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have received letters from Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi.

The Saudi King and bin Salman received separate letters from Raeisi over the bilateral relations between Tehran and Riyadh and ways to strengthen and support them in different fields.

Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al Khuraiji received the letters in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Alireza Enayati.

During the meeting, Al Khuraiji wished success for Enayati in his mission.

The two sides, during the meeting, conferred on the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to improve them in order to provide common interests.

The two countries agreed to resume diplomatic ties back in March following a Chinese-brokered deal after a seven-year estrangement.

Iran officially reopened its embassy in Riyadh in June, followed by its consulate in Jeddah and representative office with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The Saudi embassy in Tehran and its consulate in Mashhad have also resumed operations.
