Hamas says anti-Zionist operation a response to al-Aqsa desecration

Mohammed Deif, supreme military commander of Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades in Palestine, has emphasized that the anti-Zionist operation named Al-Aqsa Storm is a response to the desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque.

Deif pointed to the operation on Saturday, noting that worshipping women at Al-Aqsa Mosque were attacked and the sanctity of the Islamic site was violated despite the fact that we had previously warned the Zionists.

The occupying for insulted the Al-Aqsa Mosque, from where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended, he said, adding that hundreds of Palestinian people were martyred and injured this year because of crimes committed by the Zionist occupying regime.

The Israeli enemy did not accept our suggestion for a humanitarian prisoner swap, and it keeps on committing atrocities in the West Bank on a daily basis, the commander said.

He also stated we announced the start of the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation.

According to the Palestinian commander, the Palestinian fighters fired over 5,000 missiles and rockets towards occupied Palestinian territories.

From now on, security cooperation between the Palestinian Authority and the Zionist enemy will come to an end, he warned, adding that today, the Palestinian nation pursues the path of uprising, resistance, and return once again.

We (Palestinian fighters) call on the residents of al-Quds city to rise up against the occupying foe, he said, urging the residents of the occupied lands of 1948, including Negev and Galilee to set on fire the ground under the feet of the Zionist occupiers.

Deif also called on his brothers in Islamic resistance movements in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen to contribute to the resistance in Palestine.

The commander added that it was time for a united Arab resistance, inviting everyone to mobilize to pursue the Palestinian cause.

The time has come for the termination of occupation, and we ask the Islamic and Arab nations to move towards the borders of Palestine, he said.
