World reacts to ongoing Palestinian-Zionist battle

Reactions have been pouring in following the ongoing battle between Palestinian resistance groups in the besieged Gaza Strip and the Zionist regime, which began after the groups launched a surprise attack on the occupied territories “in response to the regime’s crimes”, prompting deadly airstrikes by the Israeli military.

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry posted a statement Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter, calling for an “immediate halt to the escalation of the conflict.”

The statement also said that the kingdom “is closely following developments in the unprecedented situation between a number of Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation forces, which has resulted in a high level of violence taking place on a number of fronts there.”

The Persian Gulf Cooperation Council meanwhile urged an “immediate ceasefire, and protection of innocent civilians”, holding “Israeli occupation forces responsible for the current situation.”

Arab League chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit urged “an immediate halt” to the conflict as well, blaming the Zionist regime’s policies for instability in the region.

“Israel’s continued implementation of violent and extremist policies is a time bomb depriving the region of any serious opportunity for stability in the foreseeable future,” Aboul Gheit said, according to Al Jazeera.

UN Chief Antonio Guterres expressed deep concern for the civilian population, urging “maximum restraint.”

Many countries, including Turkiye, Oman, the UAE, Egypt, Brazil, and Russia also called for restraint, with Moscow saying that it is in contact with Israel and Arab countries.

Western states however voiced support for the Zionist regime and condemned Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas for launching attacks on Zionist positions.

Other Palestinian movements have voiced support for Hamas, with all saying that the battle is in response to the Israeli regime’s continued crimes against Palestinian people and prisoners as well as the desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist Zionists over the past months.
