Arab envoys leave UNGA session to protest Israeli ambassador speech

Representatives of a number of Arab and Islamic countries left a UN General Assembly meeting on the Gaza war on Thursday, when the Israeli ambassador began his speech at the session, Al Jazeera reported.

The Arab and Islamic countries’ envoys left the session in protest at the Israeli regime’s war on the Gaza Strip where more than 7,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in the regime’s relentless aerial attacks since October 7.

The UNGA meeting is held to discuss a resolution drafted by Arab countries, which calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
