Amirabdollahian invites Tunisian FM to visit Tehran

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian who has traveled to Geneva to participate in Global Refugee Forum co-hosted by Switzerland and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva from 13 to 15 December 2023 met and talked with Nabil Ammar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia, at his residence and invited him to visit Tehran.

In this meeting, Amirabdollahian expressed his satisfaction with the good relations between Iran and Tunisia, and said that the political relations between the two countries are at a high level and it is important for Iran that the relations between the two countries increase in all fields, including economic, commercial, scientific, technological and tourism areas.

He appreciated Tunisia's wise and correct positions regarding Palestine.

Pointing to the stable and effective support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Palestine, he emphasized the necessity of Islamic countries' decisive support for the Palestinian nation against the ongoing war crimes and barbaric attacks of the Zionist regime in Gaza and the West Bank.

Referring to the blow to the Zionist regime on October 7 and the failure to achieve any achievements despite the brutal war crimes against the Palestinian citizens in the last two months, Amirabdollahian said that they do not have the ability to destroy the resistance groups and defeat the Palestinian nation, and now America is looking for political plans for the next phase.

The war is aimed at compensating for the defeat of the Zionist regime, which Islamic countries need to be aware of.

He invited his counterpart to travel to Tehran.

In this meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia also expressed his satisfaction with this meeting and the good relations between the two countries, and emphasized the need for joint efforts to improve relations to a high level and added that it is necessary to take more effective steps in the direction of improving relations and in line with political relations, relations to strengthen in the economic and commercial fields.

Nabil Ammar thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support for Palestine and its people and explained his country's views on the Palestinian issue, and said, "We in Tunisia defend the cause of Palestine and we are confident that they will not gain anything from killing the Palestinian nation."

While thanking Amirabdollahian for his invitation, he expressed his readiness to travel to Iran as soon as possible.
