Iran FM says discussed latest developments with Kuwaiti officials

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that he discussed the latest developments with senior Kuwaiti officials during his trip to the Persian Gulf Arab country.

The top Iranian diplomat was in Kuwait on Sunday to offer condolences to the people and government of the Arab country over the passing away of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.

Later that day, Amirabdollahian shared a post on X, previously known as Twitter, about his short trip to Kuwait.

“I delivered President Ebrahim Raisi's condolence message to Kuwait’s new Emir Sheikh Meshaal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah over the passing away of the late emir. The new emir sent his warm greetings to the Supreme Leader and the president,” Amirabdollahian said in his post.

The top Iranian diplomat also said he had congratulated the new emir of Kuwait on his appointment and discussed bilateral relations with him.

Amirabdollahian added that he also discussed the latest developments with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as he was welcomed by the top Kuwaiti diplomat at the airport.
