Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces, announced in a statement on Wednesday that, "We targeted the American ship supporting the Zionist regime with a large number of ballistic missiles and drones."

He added, "The attack on the American ship was carried out during the joint operation of Yemen's navy, missile and drone units."

The spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces added, "We will not hesitate to confront hostile threats in line with our right to legitimate defense of the country, the nation and the Islamic Ummah."

He went on to say that, "We will continue to prevent the movement of Israeli ships or vessels that are going to the occupied territories, until the war in Gaza stops and the siege of Gaza residents is lifted."

Meanwhile said, that the Yemeni army continued to allow other ships' passage in international waterways in the Red and Arab seas except for ships that are sailing towards occupied Palestinian ports.

The Yemeni military spokesman further clarified that, "Targeting the American ship was the first reaction to the brutal attack of the American enemy on our navy."
