Tehran condemns terrorist act of US government in Baghdad

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani condemned the terrorist act of the American government inside the territory of Iraq, which led to the martyrdom of several members of the resistance forces.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson strongly condemned the terrorist act of the American government inside the territory of Iraq, which led to the martyrdom of several members of the resistance forces, including Abu Baqer Al-Saadi, one of the senior commanders of the fight against terrorism and ISIL.

The Iranian spokesman called the attack a clear example of “US state terrorism” as well as a violation of Iraq’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, saying that it was international law.

The aggressive action of  “CENTCOM terrorist forces” in Baghdad was carried out in line with the continuation of the full support of the American government to the crimes of the Zionist regime against the oppressed people of Palestine, he said.

Kan'ani further said that the continuation of such acts of adventurism by the US is a threat to peace and security in the West Asia region and other parts of the world.

According to media reports, a car in eastern Baghdad was targeted by a US drone attack that left three occupants dead, potentially two senior members of the Islamic Resistance.

Witnesses said identification cards found near the charred vehicle identified them as Arkan al-Elayawi and Abu Bakir al-Saadi but their assassinations have not been officially confirmed.
