Attacks on Yemen to bring nothing but instability to region

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani stressed that the US and UK attacks on Yemen will lead nowhere but bringing instability and insecurity to the region.

Kan'ani made the remarks on Sunday, reacting to the continued aggression of the United States and the United Kingdom against Yemen.

The United States and the United Kingdom's militaries launched yet another aggression on Yemeni territories, targeting the Yemeni capital Sanaa. The US-UK-launched strikes targeted the Nahdayn and Attan mountains to the south of the Yemeni capital, as well as military maintenance centers to the north of the capital. Three airstrikes also targeted a factory next to the Technical Institute in Hay al-Nahda, resulting in a fire and damage to the factory. Yemeni media also reported that the aggression targeted the al-Dailami air base, north of the capital, Sanaa.

Strongly condemning the aggression, the senior Iranian diplomat stressed that such attacks are contrary to international laws and violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen.

"The US and the UK once again proved that they are full supporters of the war crimes and genocide of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank," he underlined, adding that the two Western states would violate all moral principles, international laws, and the United Nations Charter to ensure the security of the Tel Aviv regime.

Instead of taking effective and immediate action to eliminate the main cause of insecurity, which is the Israeli regime, the United States and the United Kingdom are launching military attacks on a country that is trying to put pressure on this murderous regime and stop its killing machine, he noted.

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian Resistance movements carried out a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity.

Yemeni Armed Forces have said that they won’t stop their attacks until unrelenting Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, which have killed at least 27,948 people and wounded another 67,459 individuals, come to an end.

The United States and Britain in December announced a military coalition to target Yemen in support of Israel.
