Yemen targets US tanker, warships in Gulf of Aden, Red Sea

The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced Sunday that the YAF Navy targeted the American oil tanker TORM THOR in the Gulf of Aden with a number of anti-ship missiles.

In a televised statement, Saree added that the YAF also targeted several American warships in the Red Sea with several drones.

He stressed that these operations come in support of the Palestinian people, who are still facing Israeli aggression and siege, and in response to the US and British aggression on Yemen.

Saree reiterated that the YAF's military operations will not cease until the Israeli aggression on Gaza stops and the blockade imposed on the Palestinian people in the Strip is lifted.

The spokesperson underlined that the YAF will confront the American-British escalation against Yemen with more top-tier operations in the Red and Arabian seas to defend the country, its people, and its nation.

Shortly after Saree's statement, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced it received a report about an incident 70 nautical miles east of the port of Djibouti.

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian Resistance movements carried out a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity.

Yemeni Armed Forces have said that they won’t stop their attacks until unrelenting Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, which have killed at least 27,948 people and wounded another 67,459 individuals, come to an end.

The United States and Britain in December announced a military coalition to target Yemen in support of Israel.
