Iran FM calls for Israeli expulsion form UNGA

"Expelling the Israeli regime from the UN General Assembly is a necessary action," according to the Iranian foreign minister at the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in the Saudi city of Jeddah Tuesday.

In his address to the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers summit in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia on Tuesday, the top Iranian diplomat said, "Expulsion of the Israeli regime from the UN General Assembly is a necessary action. Also, we should force the White House to reopen the Palestinian borders and import the needed goods."

He also called for cutting off relations with the Zionist regime and stressed an end to to any cooperation with the Israeli regime and put a broad ban on products produced by the Zionist regime's companies.

He stressed that "Now, what can effectively contain the fake Israeli regime is taking decisive and practical action on the part of the Islamic countries in putting pressure on the Zionists, including implementing deterrent bans, and in the case of those [states] who are still cooperating with that regime, cutting off diplomatic, economic and commercial relations and expelling the regime's ambassadors and recalling their ambassadors from occupied Palestine."

Amir-Abdollahian said that the Zionists are now seeking to turn the Gaza Strip into an unlivable place for Palestinians to force them out. "It is now clear that one of the dangerous goals of the Zionists is to terminate social and civil institutions in Gaza and destroy all elements of Palestinian life and identity in that region and force the residents of Gaza and the West Bank to move out to neighboring countries."

He further warned against the Zionists' push for a "voluntary transfer" of Palestinians as a move aimed at displacing them forever.

The foreign minister reiterated Iran's call for holding a referendum in the entire Palestinian lands as the sole democratic solution to resolve the conflict, noting that the Zionist regime has proven to the world that it opposes any Palestinian identity and ruled out the possibility of formation a country by the name of Palestine.

"We must be frank and serious and show this seriousness in a clear way to the Zionist regime and its supporters," Amir-Abdollahian said later in his remarks, adding that "Ceasing all economic, commercial and political cooperation by Islamic countries with the Zionist regime is the least thing that the resistant people of Palestine expect from us as Muslim governments."

The top Iranian diplomat further underscored that "The OIC needs to praise South Africa for its courageous and responsible action in filing a lawsuit against the Israeli regime at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and it should not hesitate to take any action to pursue this lawsuit until it yields results( it is implemented)."

"Any support and complicity in the committing grave international crimes would be considered as complicity and being an accomplice in doing such crimes and would lead to the international responsibility of the backing governments as well as the criminal responsibility of the leaders of those countries."

The Iranian foreign minister went on to conclude that, "Effective measures have to be taken to prevent the Zionist regime from any possible malign actions in the Holy Quds and against the Palestinian worshipers during the holy month of Ramadan, and the consequences of such possible actions also need to be remembered."
