Iranian Defense Minister inaugurated the production line (factory) of lithium batteries and different types of sealed batteries at the Energy Resource Development Organization of the Defense Ministry. 

"Today, we are witnessing the construction and operationalization of the production line of lithium battery packs and the production line of different types of sealed batteries," General Ashtiani said.

The construction and operationalization of the lithium and sealed batteries factory will yield many results to the country, especially the defense sector. 

Creating this line increases the production capacity of all types of sealed industrial batteries by 35% and the country will not need to import these batteries.

Lithium-Ion, or Li-Ion batteries are a type of rechargeable battery that’s used in many applications, but most commonly in the electronics industry. Li-Ion batteries provide portable electricity, powering electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, laptops, and tablets. Li-Ion batteries are also used to supply energy to medical equipment, electric vehicles, and power tools.

The sealed lead acid battery is the most commonly used type of storage battery and is well-known for its various applications including UPS, automotive, medical devices, and telecommunications. The battery is made up of cells, each cell consists of plates immersed in an electrolyte of dilute sulfuric acid.
