Iran strongly condemns new Isareli crimes at Shifa Hospital

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman condemned the new crimes committed by the Zionists in Gaza's Shifa Hospital, calling for immediate action to stop those crimes and file a lawsuit against the perpetrators.

The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Nasser Kan'ani, strongly condemned in a statement on Sunday night the inhumane and horrible crimes committed by the Zionist regime army against the medical staff, patients, the wounded and displaced Palestinians in the Shifa Hospital in Gaza Strip in Palestine.

Kan'ani said that "For a week, at Shifa Hospital and its surrounding area, the patients, medical staff and Palestinian refugees, especially women and children, who use there as a safe place, have been under severe and inhuman siege by the terrorist army of the Zionist regime."

He added that this regime has committed horrible crimes in the hospital to add yet another shameful act to its blacklist of crimes there.

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson further stated that "unfortunately, in the past few days, as a result of the barbaric crimes by the occupying regime, 180 patients, medical staff, and Palestinian refugees who were besieged in Shifa Hospital, have lost their lives due to indiscriminate attacks and preventing the entry of essential food and medical items."

The spokesman also noted that the remaining people in the hospital are still facing the risk of "gradual death."

Kan'ani went on to say that, "meanwhile, there have been shocking and horrifying reports about the torture, harassing and killing of Palestinian women imprisoned in this hospital , which requires immediate and decisive action by the international community, including the formation of an international research  committee in order to reveal the extent of the Zionist war crimes in the hospital."

"The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the blatant violations of international laws and regulations, human rights and international humanitarian rights by the Zionist regime, and once again reminds the duty of the international community and Islamic governments towards the support of the oppressed Palestinian nation, especially the residents and war victims that are under the siege in the Gaza Strip," he added, calling for "effective, decisive and immediate action by the governments and legal and international bodies to stop such crimes and file a lawsuit to prosecute and punish the perpetrators and supporters behind such human tragedies."
