Iran FM congratulates Muslim counterparts on Eid al-Fitr

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has congratulated his counterparts in Islamic countries on Eid al-Fitr that marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Amirabdollahian sent separate congratulatory messages to foreign ministers of Islamic countries on Sunday.

He expressed hope that the Eid al-Fitr occasion serves as an opportunity for further cooperation among Muslim countries to boost security and tranquility, and eliminate cruelty in the world, especially regarding the Palestinian people.

Iran will celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the “festival of breaking the fast”, this coming Wednesday. Saudi Arabia and many more Muslim countries are expected to celebrate the occasion on the same day as well.

The first day of Eid al-Fitr is determined by the sighting of the crescent moon, which marks the start of Shawwal, the tenth month on the Islamic lunar calendar.
